The Consortium

The Consortium for the Protection and Valorization of Calabria IGP Oil was officially established on April 12, 2017, thanks to the will and foresight of some Calabrian olive producers with the aim of enhancing their production.

On August 12 of the same year, the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies recognized to the Consortium the functions of protection, promotion, enhancement, consumer information relating to Calabrian Oil with Protected Geographical Indication.
The primary aims of the Consortium are the protection and enhancement of the Olio di Calabria IGP brand and consequently all that this represents regarding the production of oil in volumes at national level.
The work of collective valorization starts from the spread of the culture of healthy and good eating with the use as a condiment of quality extra virgin olive oil produced in Calabria, certain that the Mediterranean and Calabrian gastronomic tradition and culture represent important values to be spread at every level, given the beneficial effects they have on human health.
